Galway city is based on the southern shores of Ireland; it is located on River Corrib’s banks and is considered to be a very intimate city. It doesn’t involve much civilization and is a small scale city. The city is famous for its arts and crafts and a live music attraction, being a small city such scenes proves to be very scenic and crazy for everyone around. The city basically runs through the bohemian vibes. The city holds a very cultural history of tribes. Galway city also serves as the port for trading, of Galway. Here are my top most attractions for this lively town.

Galway Market

If you want to visit through the tribal culture and the bohemian vibes of the Galway city, this market is the best place to go through. The market alone serves as a purpose of various varieties like produces, shopping, food, and arts crafts. The market is based near the Nicholas church, which is centuries old and can be visited while you travel through the market. The market is widely famous for it’s over 50 different sweet treats, created right in front of you.

Galway Cathedral

This ancient castle is just an eight-minute walk away from the St. Nicholas church and is one of the most visited places around Galway. The castle holds huge importance in its history and still represents it wildly. At night the whole castle lights up with a thousand bulbs and becomes spectacular to look at. The entry for the castle is free.

The Corrib Princess

If looking for adventure in this beautiful town, this is your place. It is famous among the tourists for water sports. You can also sign up for a 90-minute boat ride which takes you through the farthest point of the princess and the lunch is on them. It costs around 500 Euros.

Evora – Exploring the Explorers

Evora holds stories about the Portuguese explorers, for their shrines and architectural structures. Evora historically was a major religious and trading center. The city is being a historical representer, is not old and cocky, but the actual opposite, it is very fun and vibrant and it holds the highest amount of students in it.

Food and Wine

Evora is known for its authentic food and specially its popular bread, which is dense and tasty and is served in any course of the meal. Evora is popularly known for its spices condiments that are naturally and organically grown in Alentejo such as coriander, mint, oregano, garlic, pennyroyal and more. I took the farm tour, which is availed to the tourists. It is breathtakingly amazing; it looks and smells really pleasant.

Adventure

There are certain amounts of tourists, that look for an adrenaline rush in the places they visit. Me being one of them wanted to explore what all is available there and found out real good adventures to go on for. I did skydiving in the Evora airport while returning, they provide you with options of sky diving jumps or tandem parachuting. You can also go through the nature trails by renting a bike for yourself. While visiting the lagoons and dams, I involved myself in various sports activities like water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, boat riding, etc.

Handicrafts

Traditional objects are the most commonly selling products down the Evora market lanes. These handicrafts are like something that your grandparents used to have and are still in a good state with proper functioning. The best pieces can be found in the Museu do Artesanato e do design de Evora, that is the museum with precious highlighted handicrafts, made of clay, cork, iron, and horn. You can find handmade tableware and embroidery pieces there too.
